Lifeguard Certification Training

Date and Time of Event:
Session 1: Class meets April 6,7 and 13 0900-1800
Session 2: Class meets May 11, 18, 18 0900-1800

Location: Long Pool. BLDG 8069 Normandy Drive
Admission Fee/Cost: $200 per person, Active Duty $100 per person

Candidates must successfully complete a prerequisite swim skills assessment in order to demonstrate competency in the water prior to enrollment. Candidates then attend a 3 day session that meets 0900-1800 in order to obtain their lifeguard certification. Candidates are trained to recognize and respond to emergencies in water and on land. American Red Cross Lifeguard Training teaches the skills needed to enter the water, perform an appropriate rescue and provide emergency care as needed. The certification includes Life guarding, CPR, AED, and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer.
