The Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) is an organization that is responsible for the majority of programs, services and events that occur on Fort Riley, therefore having a significant impact on the Fort Riley community. Our innovative Special Events team brings in concerts, carnivals and festivals for the Greater Flint Hills Region. Fall Apples Days has been a staple on post for over 20 years and is highly visible in the region. We also have Oktoberfest, Month of the Military Child Festival, Victory Week, Great Escapes Expo and many others that pull in large amounts of participants.
Army Community Services (ACS):
Life can be difficult to navigate in the Army; this is where ACS steps in. They are committed to delivering a wide range of support services to the Fort Riley community. You can partner with ACS for team building classes, Army Family Action Plan Conference, Women’s Conference, Family Appreciation Dinner as well as Volunteer of the Quarter and the Year.
Rally Point Bingo Center:
Our Rally Point Bingo Center is open 5 days a week and once a month on Sundays for Family Bingo. Family Bingo provides opportunities for the entire family to get involved and provides prizes for adults and children. We have also recently added Comedy Night to our monthly calendar at the Bingo Center with overwhelming success!
Custer Hill Bowling Center:
With 40 Lanes, a snack bar, a newly renovated full bar with a patio and great events like their new Years Eve Party, Valentines’ Sweetheart Bowl and Halloween Party. It is a great place for young Soldiers and families.
Child Youth and School Services (CYSS):
We have seven child development centers, school aged and youth sports programs, along with a teen center. CYSS has many events throughout the year including Month of the Military Child.
Sports / Fitness:
Our population is very physically fit and loves competition. Our sporting division has great events that include: 10-5-2 Prairie Run, Splash and Dash Triathlon, softball tournaments, sports seasons and the dodge ball tournament. A new opportunity this year is the Flint Hills Marathon for TBI Awareness, which also is a partnership among the communities surrounding Fort Riley.
Riley’s Conference Center:
Our Conference Center offers fantastic programs and special brunches throughout the year. These hospitality professionals provide creative events like their ever popular Dinner and a Movie and brunches, which include our traditional Easter and Mother’s Day Brunch.
Fort Riley Post Library
With Library attendance projected to be around 78,000 in 2016, a business or individual can receive significant exposure through a Fort Riley Post Library program sponsorship while making a positive investment in the military community. Programs requiring sponsorship include:
The Warrior Zone:
This state-of-the-art multimedia facility is geared towards single soldiers. With gaming computers, flat screen TVs, X-BOX’s, a home movie theatre and snack bar, soldiers have a huge variety of activities to choose from. Single soldiers are a difficult demographic to reach, but can be one of the most lucrative. Here is your ticket to reach them on a personal level.
Custer Hill Golf Course:
Many don’t know that our golf course is one of the finest military courses in the Midwest. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and features a grill, clubhouse and a driving range. Throughout the golf season, we have many tournaments and love to partner with our community businesses to make our tournaments a bigger success and our local businesses more well known.
Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS):
BOSS is here to help single soldiers acclimate to the life in the military. They have successful fundraising events each year that help support their programming. The Haunted House, along with Holiday activities , are some to their events that businesses can partner with.
