Are you passionate about working with children? Becoming a Family Child Care (FCC) provider allows you to run a home-based business while supporting military families by offering quality childcare.

Steps to Become an FCC Provider

To become a certified FCC provider, you must complete the following steps:

  • Submit an Application: Complete the FCC Provider Application (DA Form 5279) and submit it to your local FCC office.

  • Complete a Family Interview: An FCC representative will visit your home to discuss expectations and answer questions.

  • Background Checks: A background check will be conducted for the applicant, military sponsor, and anyone older than 12 years old living in the home.

  • Attend Orientation and Training: Complete orientation training, including child safety, CPR, and child abuse prevention.

  • Home Safety Inspections: Your home must pass fire, safety, health, and sanitation inspections.

  • Receive Provisional Certification: Once approved, you will receive a provisional certification and can begin providing childcare.
